APPROVAL OF THE CHARTER BETWEEN THE SCHOOL BOARD OF SARASOTA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AND THE IMAGINE SCHOOL AT NORTH PORT, INC. AS IMAGINE HIGH SCHOOL AT NORTH PORT
Description
The application for the Imagine High School at North Port, a Charter School, was approved by the School Board of Sarasota County at its November 16, 2010 meeting. Pursuant to Florida Statues, 1002.33, representatives from Imagine High School North Port and school district staff have negotiated a Charter to serve as the agreement between the organizations. Imagine High School at North Port is scheduled to open in August 2011 as a grade 9 school and will add grades 10, 11 and 12 during the next three years. The negotiated Charter is now complete and ready for Board consideration and approval.
Recommendation
That the Charter between the School Board of Sarasota County, Florida, and Imagine School at Sarasota LLC, dba the Imagine High School of North Port be approved as presented.
